About Tim Cooper Photography
- George Dewolf (B&W Printing: Creating the Digital Master Print)
Tim Cooper's images, especially his black and white photographs, have been widely revered as fine pieces of art by his colleagues and students. His prints in particular are acknowledged as the product of a true craftsman, which makes sense given that he has been shooting and printing for nearly twenty years!
For those twenty years, Tim has shown himself to be very passionate about and inspired by the nature that surrounds him, both where he lives (in breathtaking Montana) and wherever he is led by his work. From national parks, to iconic vistas throughout the United States, to remote spaces barely touched by man, Tim has been there with his camera.
And, in each place, Tim's passion for photography suddenly comes to life! Grounded and focused, Tim translates the grandeur and beauty that he sees before him into images that reveal the strength and particular power of a place. He returns again and again, until finally he has an image that holds a test of time.
Today, Tim combines his love for photography with his love for showing others a means by which they can realize their own similar passion. Together, Tim and his students travel into the natural world to find truths, moments and delight both in the humbling beauty that surrounds them, as well as within themselves.
